Natural fibres only. No synthetics. Eco-conscious, slow crafted.

We host this session once a month.

Our block print and slow craft masterclasses:

Block Print & Sashiko: Māya x Keiko

Our Block Print & Sashiko Workshop is a unique textile experience in Berlin. In this creative exploration we combine two traditional techniques in a single session: hand block printing with eco-friendly inks and Japanese sashiko embroidery.

This mindful, hands-on class is designed for those who love slow craft and experimentation.

You’ll create wearable and functional textile art by learning how to print patterns on natural fabrics using hand-carved wooden blocks and biodegradable inks, followed by the meditative practice of sashiko stitching to add depth, texture, and narrative to your design.

Whether you’re new to textile arts or looking to expand your creative skills, this workshop offers an opportunity to explore pattern-making, surface design, and stitching techniques while working with sustainable, eco-conscious materials.

All materials are provided, including a curated selection of blocks, inks, sashiko threads, and organic fabrics. You’ll leave with your own handcrafted textile piece, plus a deeper understanding of how to integrate block printing and sashiko embroidery into your creative practice.

Sessions start in September.

Tailored to each participant’s creative journey, these private studio print sessions will inspire you to experiment, create freely, find flow, and deepen your connection to artisan techniques.

We tailor the experience to each participant’s needs and can help you start your journey in sustainable textile design and printing.

Print Thinking & Printmaking Master Classes

Discover our philosophy behind Print Thinking in our new atelier. We are proud to be Berlin’s first design atelier, focusing on block printing and sustainable textile craft.

Print Thinking Masterclasses are immersive, research-driven sessions held weekly at Atelier Māya. Each class blends heritage craft, contemporary design, and mindful making, exploring the relationship between colour, pigments, patterns and storytelling.
