Block Print Berlin

—An Original Māya Experience

Explore our block printing workshops in Berlin. Our practice is rooted in slow craft and textile storytelling.

Atelier Māya offers a studio-based block printing practice grounded in slow craft, material research, and textile storytelling. Our approach treats block printing as a contemporary design discipline shaped by rhythm, repetition, and experimentation with surface, colour, and process.

Our workshops explore traditional woodblock printing through a modern, sustainable lens. Working with hand-carved blocks, studio-mixed eco-friendly inks, and natural fibres, participants engage in mindful, process-led making that values experimentation, restraint, and material awareness over fast results.

Each block print experience is designed to support both beginners and experienced designers seeking a deeper connection to textile craft. Through immersive slow craft textile workshops, we share a thoughtfull and creative approach to craftsmanship, sustainability, and creativity. Our work is informed by long-term field research and responsible colour practice.

Our block print and slow craft masterclasses:

Block Print & Sashiko: Māya x Keiko

The Block Print & Sashiko Workshop is a unique textile experience in Berlin, combining two heritage techniques in a single, carefully paced session: hand block printing with eco-friendly inks and Japanese sashiko embroidery.

Designed for those drawn to slow craft and material exploration, this hands-on workshop invites you to work intuitively with pattern, texture, and stitch. You’ll begin by printing on natural fabrics using hand-carved wooden blocks and biodegradable inks, then layer your work with the meditative practice of sashiko stitching to add depth, rhythm, and narrative.

The session is open to both beginners and experienced makers, offering space to explore pattern-making, surface design, and stitching while working exclusively with sustainable, eco-conscious materials.

You’ll leave with a handcrafted textile piece and a grounded understanding of how block printing and sashiko can be integrated into your own creative practice.

Dates to be announced in April
